Replacing 4.80/4.00-8 Tires On A 4 Bolt Wheel On My 2012 Triton LXT Trailer With 12 Tires

Question:

Bought a 2012 Triton LXT aluminum jet ski trailer and need new rims and tires. Currently has very small 4.80-8 on a 4 bolt. Want to go to a 12 inch tire on rim. Not certain how to find the measurement on the four bolt for these. Thank you.

There are some things you will have to be aware of before you switch from 8" tires to 12" tires on your trailer. Going with bigger tires will decrease the clearance on your trailer. Your tires will be closer to the top of your wheel well. Your trailer's suspension might cause issues with your suspension travel. The extra height will also make your trailer more vulnerable to trailer sway.

You will have to get tires and wheels to go with 12" tires. Your wheels have a rim width of 3-3/4". You need a rim width of 4" for the 12" tires. If you believe that your trailer will have enough room for 12" tires and if the lug nuts on your wheels are 4 on 4, I recommend the Kenda KR25 Radial Trailer Tire with 12" Aluminum HWT Black Wheel - 4 on 4 - Load Range D, part # AM31208HWTB. These tires have a weight limit of 1,220 lbs at 65 psi.

I have included a product description link, a video demo link, and a link to measure the bolt patterns of your wheels below.
