Recommended Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System For Damaged 3,500 LB Trailer Torsion Axle
Question:
I presently have a #3500lb utility trail with a 4 inch torsion axle. On Monday I hit a pot hole and tore the axle from the frame. My question is could I use the #5200Lb Timbren Torsion Axle to replace the damaged axle.

Helpful Expert Reply:
I recommend sticking with a 3500lb rated system like the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System # ASR3500S05.
By using the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System # TASR5200S03 you will not actually increase the capacity of your trailer since it was built and designed for 3,500lbs. The heavier springs will lead to a stiffer ride for the cargo on the trailer as well and you will notice a lot more bounce when empty.
The Timbren # ASR3500S05 will have a straight spindle and will accept either the Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # 84545UC1-EZ or Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # 84546UC3-EZ with Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit # 23-468-469 if you require trailer brakes.
