The best electric drum to hydraulic disc brake conversion kit we offer for a trailer with tandem 7,000 lb axles is the HydraStar Disc Brake Kit with Actuator for Tandem Axle Trailers part # HSE7K-T1. This is a complete kit that has everything you need so no extra trips to the store or waiting for things to arrive online. It comes with the hub/rotors, calipers, mounting brackets, brake lines, actuator, and other other hardware and fittings needed. Just add brake fluid and you're done.

do 7k and 8k used the same axle spindle, just different bearings?

@BradS There are similarities and important differences between the bearings/spindle setups used for a 7 and 8K axle. Both use the same 25580 inner bearing, but the 8K uses a bearing that has a slightly larger OD. Also, the 7K spindles can use two different grease seals depending on the diameter of the spindle surface where the seal rides, one with a 2.125 ID, the other uses a seal with a 2.25 ID seal. The 8K uses a 2.25 ID seal. So, the short answer is maybe yes, maybe no. Hope that helps explain it for you!
