Equalizer Upgrade For Prime Time Tracer Trailer With 28-3/4 Inch Axle Spacing

Question:

I have a 2014 Prime Time Tracer Air M-250 Travel trailer. The Axle spacing is 28.75 inch The stock equalizer looks standard though all of the equalizers Ive found say they are for a 31 inch or wider. Equalizer measueres 5 3/4" by 2" The Shackles are 2 1/4" I'd also like to upgrade the shackles and add wet bolts. What aftermarket equalizer will work on my travel trailer?

Thanks so much for the photo and precise measurement, as that's exactly what is needed to get you the upgraded equalizers for your trailer. As for the axle spacing, that is more of a guideline as most people don't have the exact measurements of the equalizer, but can pretty easily measure the spacing.

You can use upgraded equalizers so long as they are the same (or very close) to the measurements of your current equalizers. So for your 5-3/4" long, 2" tall equalizer, the upgrade that will work is from Dexter:

- Dexter E-Z Flex Suspension Kit # K71-652-00

The E-Z Flex # K71-652-00 measures 5-5/8" long, and 2" tall, and will work superbly as an upgrade for you; the 1/8" difference in length won't be a factor in either fit or function. These equalizers are cushioned, which means they will help absorb the impact on your Prime Time's suspension for a smoother, more manageable towing experience.

You mentioned upgrading the shackles and adding wet bolts, and the E-Z Flex actually comes with those as well. The shackles are the same 2-1/4" length as yours, and they are heavy-duty due to their 1/2" thickness. The E-Z Flex also includes wet bolts for easier maintenance, so this is an all-in-one kit that has everything you are looking for to improve your travel trailer's ride.
