2013 Toyota Highlander Factory Roof Rack Cargo Box Recommendation

Question:

Rooftop Cargo Box for 2013 Toyota Highlander with Factory Roof Rack Hello, excellent web-site and yes I selected the this year and model on the drop down menu and received some suggestions. I am not in a position to return the rooftop cargo box and just want to confirm which roof cargo box you think would fit this vehicle and which is best overall? Thank you so much!

It looks like the OEM roof rack on your 2013 Toyota Highlander sits closer to your roof so you need to use a roof rack with smaller mounting hardware like the Trunx Rooftop Cargo Box # TRX34FR which uses smaller U-Bolts instead of the newer clamping mounting systems which are easier to use.

The Trunx boxes are more on the cost-effective side of things and don't have the best quality so if you're wanting to use a nicer cargo box we need to use a different set of crossbars that give us more clearance to your roof - I recommend using the Malone AirFlow2 which you can use either the 58" Crossbars # MPG216 or the 65" Crossbars # MPG217 depending on what else you plan to use the roof rack for.

Now that we have a higher roof rack we can look at nicer cargo boxes and for that I recommend checking out the Thule Force XT XL # TH6358B because it gives you 18 cu ft of storage space and is very easy to use.
