Tail Light Staying on After the Vehicle is Shut Off
Question:
Passenger tail light stays on hooked to the truck I have a marine battery in the trailer for the interior lights to be used when not hooked to the truck and that taillight still stays on I’ve had the trailer for three years it was parked the light all of a sudden came on and now I can’t figure out why

The most common issue with a tail light staying on is if there is a short circuit located somewhere in the wiring. If there is an added flow of current, that is possibly due to a frayed wire making contact somewhere on the frame of the trailer. Another possibility is that the wiring is overlapping and drawing current from another wire on the harness.
If you need a circuit tester to assist you with testing the live locations of your wiring, I recommend the # PTW2993. I went ahead and attached a video that shows you the basic function of the probe.
