Chucking with Andersen Ultimate Connection 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch System and Turning Point Pin Box

Question:

I just purchased my first 5th wheel previously had a travel trailer and believe I am experiencing chucking. I have an Anderson ultimate hitch and the coupler is a Curt Turning Point. What coupler would be best for me given the hitch that I use? Max weight is 12,300. All options would be appreciated.

The chucking you are experiencing is because the Andersen Ultimate Connection 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch System, # AM3200 is to be used with fixed pin boxes only. For safety, this hitch should not be used with a rotating turret type pin box. The Turning Point pin box being a relatively new option with OEM's and doesn't really have any decent replacement options yet. My suggestion is to changeout the hitch you are using with a B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch. Either the 18K model, # BWRVK3255 or 16K model, # BWRVK3200 mounted with the B&W Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails, # BWRVK2505.

The 3/4" thick jaw on the Patriot is precision machined to provide a tight, sturdy connection that inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hookup and a safer, quieter ride.
