Recommended RV Air Conditioner For A 6x12 Enclosed Utility Trailer

Question:

We have a 6X12 enclosed utility trailer that we use for our small business. We make and sell hard candy and do shows in the summer time as well as the winter. All we really need to do is be able to keep the candy cool not super cold or anything like that. Even of we can keep around 60 to 65 degrees. This would be a new install and also what size generator would I need to run this AC? I have a guy that knows how to install them just not sure exactly what I need.

To keep your 6x12 enclosed trailer cool you could install the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System - Manual - 15,000 Btu - White # FR92PR. This unit has an industry leading BTU rating of 15,000 BTU's. It comes with a distribution box with controls so that you won't have to run a thermostat/controller down the wall, which could take up valuable real estate in an already tight space.

Since you are installing this unit on an enclosed trailer you will need to reinforce the roof of the trailer to support the weight of the rooftop unit. You'll will also most likely need to increase the thickness of the roof as this system requires a 3-1/2" to 6" roof thickness. We've installed these systems in enclosed trailers before and just increased the thickness by using some plywood around the opening to get it to an acceptable thickness.

As for the generator, the etrailer 4,500-Watt Portable RV Generator # 333-0005 has more than enough wattage capacity to run the AC and some other small appliances. It runs off of both propane and gas and features an electric starter for fast and easy start up.
