How to Use Standard 5th Wheel Hitch With B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck

Question:

What fifth wheel rails would work for a 2015 Ford F-250 xlt with a b and w flip over gooseneck ball. I want to keep the ball and have rails for my husky 16k fifth wheel hitch.

There is a way for you to use your standard Husky 5th wheel hitch with your B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Hitch, though you wouldn't be able to add 5th wheel rails. That's because the brackets that allow you to mount 5th wheel rails mount in the same spot on your truck as the gooseneck hitch, so there isn't a way to mount both gooseneck rails and 5th wheel rails.

It would be like trying to wear tennis shoes and work boots at the same time, for example - there just isn't enough room for both. What you can do though is add an adapter that mounts inside the Turnoverball hole:

- Demco 5th Wheel Base Rails Adapter for B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitches # DM6140

You'd have to remove the gooseneck ball to mount the # DM6140, and it simply installs directly into the square gooseneck hole, and secures with the same pin that is used for the gooseneck ball. It has a 21,000 lb capacity as well, so you can use the full capacity of your 16k 5th wheel hitch.
