Wiring Harness for a Tekonsha P3 Trailer Brake Controller for a 2001 Ford F-250
Question:
I have an 01 ford f250 sd, the controler I bought is for a 12V negative charging system, I need an addapter to use on a 12V positive system, what system does my truck have? I also bought the Tekonsha 3035 P cotroler wiring adapter. Do I have what I need?

Modern vehicles use a negative ground system which is what your 2001 Ford F-250 should have unless it was ever modified for any reason which is very unlikely. Every brake controller that I have seen uses the black wire for 12 volt positive power into the brake controller. The white wire is the ground and goes to the negative battery terminal either directly or through a factory plug.
Harness # 3035-P would be the correct one for your truck. It is designed to fit Tekonsha brake controllers that accept a plug and play type of harness. Based on your original title to the question you have the P3, # 90195. The controller and harness # 3035-P should be all you need.
If your truck just has a factory 4-Way trailer connector though you will need to add replacement 7-Way # 118243.
