Recommended RV Water Pump For A Tiny House Build With An EcoTemp Water Heater

Question:

I would like a suggestion for a water pump. I’m building a tinyhouse and I get my water from a 20 gallon water tank. My current water pump “aquatec DDP 550” 115vac is not able to activate my water heater when the kitchen faucet is set halfway 50/50 cold/hot water. My water heater is a “eccotemp i12-lp” it’s supposed to get a water flow of 6 gpm to activate however if there is enough pressure anything above 45psi it activates with 3gpm anyway. What waterpump would you suggest to get for my system? I want something quite and I prefer 110v however 12v could work as well. Thanks

I recommend the HydroMax RV Fresh Water Pump - 12 Volt - 3 Gallons Per Minute - 55 psi # P25201. This water pump has a 55 psi rating with a 3.0 GPM rating. It has rubber feet to minimize the noise and vibration that you would feel with the other pumps we currently have available, especially the higher PSI rated Seaflow Pump # SE24FR. The # SE24FR is going to give you a higher GPM to negate that pulsating you'd have from your faucet, but its much noisier.

The HydroMax does run off of 12v power and has a self-priming design, capable of 6' vertical prime and 30' horizontal prime. It features a Built-in check valve and strainer to prevent backflow and unwanted debris from entering the pump. It has an integrated thermal overload protection and can run dry without damage so you won't have to worry about your pump breaking down on you when you're out camping in the middle of nowhere.

I've attached some review videos below where Adam will walk you through use of these pumps and give you a great depiction of how well they preform.
