Bike Rack Compatible For A Bike With Front Fender and Rear Rack

Question:

I’m interested in getting the Thule Helium Platform bike rack, but my bike has fenders along with rear rack. Could I use this or is there something you can recommend that will still be secure and not scratch my bike?

With the Thule Helium Bike Rack # TH44VR it will depend on the size of your tires as well as fenders and rack if you will be able to use the rack. Since this rack will only fit with tires between 26" to 29" in diameter you will need to compare with your bike. With the larger 29" tires the wheel clamps do not go as far up on the tires leaving lots of space for fenders and racks. I have linked a video below that shows how it fits differently with different tires. This rack will only support a bike up to 37.5lbs.

The Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack # TH903202 may be your best option if you have a large front fender or rear rack. This will hold your bike in place by the frame. Unlike other racks that provide downward pressure to hold the bike on the frame, this rack has an arms that are adjustable. The padded clamps help to prevent any damage to the frame caused by road vibration.
