Would the Tekonsha Primus Brake Controller and Harness # 3023-P fit a 2013 Dodge Ram 1500
Question:
I understand that the 2013 ram 1500 wiring is different and requires part #3023-P. Will this part work well with Tekonsha part # TK90160, and will it cause problems with the trucks computer? Does the trucks computer need to know that this part has been added? What is Flashing the trucks computer list mean and does this have to happen for the brake controller to operate correctly? Do I need a diode to protect the computer? Thanks,

Expert Reply:
The Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter # 3023-P that you referenced would be the correct harness for your 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 and would work with the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller # TK90160.
When installed correctly there should be no fault codes on your dashboard and you should not have to worry about having anything reflashed. No diodes would be necessary either, all you would need is the # 3023-P harness and the controller and you would be good.
Check out the install video I attached for this harness for you also.
