Roadmasters MX Base Plates are Designed to Work with Roadmaster Tow Bars  

Question:

Will this work with the Falcon 2 tow bar. Does the 4405-3 require any drilling to car frame, is this something i can install? Mainly what is the differnce between thw 4405-3 Mx and the 4405-1 LX. Any ifo will be appreciated, and which one would be the easiest to install.. Thanks James

Roadmaster MX base plates are designed to only work with Roadmaster tow bars that slide directly into a hitch opening. MX base plates will not work with a tow bar that requires a hitch ball. Yes, the Roadmaster MX base plates, part # 4405-3, will work with the Falcon 2 tow bar. Almost every set of base plates will require you to drill on the frame of your car. The difference between the, part # 4405-1, and the MX plates, part # 4405-3, is apparent in the attachment point to the tow bar. If you look at the attachment on the MX plates, it almost looks like a U-shaped docking station, while the XL plates are flat, upright, and have two holes. If you already have the Falcon 2 tow bar, part # RM-520, I would go with the MX base plates, part # 4405-3.
