Which 6 On 5-1/2 Bolt Pattern Hubs Will Fit A 2008 M1101 HMMWV Trailer?
Question:
Hello, Ive been told you all are the very best at this, so please offer your insight! I have a 2008 M1101 HMMWV trailer with stock 8 lug hubs and Id like to change them out for 6x5.5 so I can use 2020 Ram 1500 wheels instead of the massive 37 Goodyear runflats. Will you advise what exact product I need for this? Note I plan to keep the hydraulic surge brakes for now and will change over to electric later. Thank You!

From what I could find, your 2008 M1101 HMMWV trailer will use the # 25580 inner bearing, but the outer bearing is proving to me more difficult to locate. It looks like it has a 1.25" inner diameter, which does match two hub and drum assemblies we have. These do use different seals though, so you will need to pull one hub, or both, so see which will be the correct option. I have both options listed below and these do have the needed 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern and 12" diameter drum.
Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 5,200-lb and 6,000-lb Axles - 12" - 6 on 5-1/2 - Pre-Greased # AKHD-655-6-K
Grease seal (included): GS-2250DL
Inner diameter: 2.25"
Outer diameter: 3.376"
Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 5,200-lb Axles - 12" Diameter - 6 on 5-1/2 # 8-201-5UC3
Grease seal (included): GS-2125DL
Inner diameter: 2.125"
Outer diameter: 3.376"
I do also need to mention that trailer wheels are lug centric and vehicle wheels are hub centric, so I cannot say the Ram wheels will fit these hubs properly. So just a heads up on that.
