Can Stromberg Carlson Trailer Jack JET-5000 be Used on 4,000 lb Trailer
Question:
Hi I have a question regarding a product from this website. I currently have a 6x12 enclosed cargo trailer. Empty weight 1760lbs plus roughly 2400lbs of hauling. Would the Stromberg Carlson Electric Trailer Jack - Leg - A-Frame - 23 Lift - 5,000 lbs be an ideal item to use to sustain the weight once detached from the truck? Or would you recommend a different jack?

Expert Reply:
The Stromberg Carlson trailer jack part # JET-5000 would have more than enough capacity to work well on your cargo trailer that would weigh about 4,000 lbs. It has a lifting capacity of 5,000 lbs which is relative to the tongue weight of the trailer and not the total weight. So on your trailer it would only lift around 400 lbs.
