Recommended 12 Inch Wheels and Tires for 2007 Stinger Motorcycle Trailer

Question:

Hello. I need your recommendation for trailer tires. I currently have a 2007 Stinger single motorcycle trailer with 8 inch wheals. I want to replace them with 12 inch tires that would allow me to drive at a speed of 70 miles/hr. I trail a motorcycle that is 570 pounds. I would also need rims to go along with the 12 inch tires. Thanks

The first thing you will need to do is find the bolt pattern on your trailer wheels. From what I have found, you have a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern on your current wheels, but you will want to confirm this.

The other thing you are going to need to do is check your clearance. It looks like this trailer has fenders that will need to be removed if you add a 12" tire because of the height difference. You will also want to make sure that you have at least 2" of clearance between the tire and frame since the 12" tires would have additional width.

That being said, for a 12" tire and wheel I recommend the Kenda Karrier ST145/R12 Radial Trailer Tire with 12" Black Mod Wheel # AM35354. This wheel has a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern so I am assuming that is correct. The 145/80-12 Kenda Radial tire has a max load of 1,220 lbs at 65 psi and a max speed of 81 mph. The outer diameter of this tire is 21.3" and the width is 5.7". I'm not sure which 8" tire you currently have so you will need to compare these measurements to your current tire in order to make sure you have enough clearance.

I have attached a review video, as well as some help articles on measuring bolt patterns for your reference.
