Replacement 26 Inch Long Double Eye Leaf Spring for Travel Trailer

Question:

The information Jon sent I dont think is the right spring, the spring I need has very little arch. I have a replacement spring in now that was quite arched when the weight of the trailer is on it, it makes it longer and there is no movement available at the shackles therefore the spring has to be almost flat with the center to center being 26 inches. I was told that the information on the tag on the spring is needed which is Dexter Rockwell 12-16-3 the bottom number is 72-2512 this is all the information I have on the tag.

The 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 4,000-lb Trailer Axles # e22YR looks to be exactly what you need. This measures 26" from center eye to center eye and is 1-3/4" wide. This is rated for 2,000 lbs so when you replace both springs together they are rated for 4,000 lbs (check to make sure this is rated high enough for your axle specs). Be sure to replace the leaf spring on both sides of the same axle to ensure that you have a consistent ride quality.

Thank you for the extra information! I reached out to my contact at Dexter Axle who was able to help me out with some of their specs on leaf springs and it looks like the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 5,000-lb Trailer Axles - 25-1/4" Long # e28SR is what you're going to need instead. When we measure center eye to center eye we do so when the leaf spring is unloaded but my contact at Dexter Axle said that their 26" leaf spring measurements are when the spring is under load. When your 26" spring is unloaded it will be more like 25-1/4" which is why we are going that route.
