Can The Kuat Pivot 2 Swing Away Adapter Be Used With The Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack?

Question:

Will the Kuat Pivot 2 work with a Hollywood RV Rider bike Rack? Noticed the RV Rider documentation says the receiver hitch must have a flange. If not, what are other options?

You are correct in that the Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack # HLY64FR does require the hitch it is being installed in to have a flange around the outside. This is for the anti-rattle device to connect and work properly as, if there there is no flange, it will slide off. With that said, this rack will not be compatible with the Kuat Pivot 2 Swing Away Hitch Extender # PVP20B or any of the swing-away adapters/extenders we currently carry.

However, the Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack # Y36FR does not use the same style of anti-rattle device and can very easily be used with the Yakima BackSwing Swing Away Hitch Extender # Y02483. The # Y02483 is very very similar in its capacities to the # PVP20B, but the bike racks do have a few differences. The main difference is the capacity (66 pounds per bike for the Yakima and 80 pounds per bike for the Hollywood Racks), but the upright mast is a little different as well.

I do also have to mention that though both of these bike racks can be used with a Motorhome, Fifth Wheel, and Flat Towed Vehicles (plus a Travel Trailer for the Yakima), none of the swing away adapters are rated for this kind of use. They can only be used on a Car, Truck, SUV, or Van.
