There's no functional reason the Blue Ox High-Low Adapter for Tow Bars # BX88235 uses bolt instead of welds that you would notice. By that I mean there isn't something different you can do with it based on the bolts like swap to a different drop by unbolting it . They also have a version that has a 7 inch drop with part # BX88241 which uses the same shank but has a lower drop so this allows a portion of this to be modular. This style has twice the weight capacity as the fully welded options that are similar so it would appear this method gives more strength.
