Can I Carry A Small Rooftop Cargo Box On Factory Roof Rack With Crossbar Spread Of 32"

Question:

I have a 2021 RAV4 hybrid with factory installed cross bars. The spacing is about 32” will the Thule sidekick work? I’m looking for something small and easy to handle. Thank you

I do have a solution for you, but it will not be a Thule Sidekick. The Sidekick will fit on a vehicle that has a crossbar spread of 23-5/8" to 28", which is shorter than the 32" the factory rack on your 2021 RAV4 provides. Since your crossbar spread is fixed at 32", you will be limited to roof top cargo boxes that are at least medium in size. The small and extra small offerings will not work with crossbar spreads of 32". I recommend the SportRack Horizon Rooftop Cargo Box - 16 cu ft - Black, part # SR7016. It is a single sided opening box, just like the Thule Sidekick.
