For a great roof-mounted bike rack on your 2014 Toyota Prius with a bare roof, I recommend the Thule UpRide Roof Bike Rack # TH599000 or the # TH599000-FB (if you have fat bike tires up to 5 inches wide). Apart from providing you with 44 pounds of bike weight capacity, the UpRide gives you the option of clamping the rack onto crossbars or using the t-channels (up to 20mm x 20mm). As far as required crossbar spread, the UpRide will mount on your crossbars as long as they can be spaced between 24" - 43". If you already have crossbars installed, the UpRide will clamp around your bars as long as they do not exceed 3-1/8" wide x 1" tall. In order to make sure the UpRide fits, I recommend measuring the width and height of your crossbars.

If you need a great compatible crossbar system, I recommend the following parts:

- Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars - Aluminum - Silver - 53" # TH711400 (silver) or # TH711420 (black)
- Evo Clamp Feet for Thule Crossbars - Naked Roofs # TH710501
- Fit Kit for Thule Evo Clamp Roof Rack Feet - 5001 # TH145001
- Thule One-Key Lock Cores # TH450400

The great thing about the WingBar Evo setup is that you will get a aerodynamic crossbar system that reduces overall wind noise as well as increases gas mileage. Also, since the WingBar Evos come with a dual-strip t-slot diffuser strip, you will get less interference from wind than all other crossbars that only have a one-strip diffuser strip. You also receive up to 130 pounds of weight capacity with this system. As with all roof racks, I recommend consulting with your vehicle's owner's manual to make sure your roof can accommodate the weight you wish to transport.
