Ladder Rack Installation for a 2017 Toyota Tundra
Question:
Hello, About the metal piece that goes on the under side of rack, they instruct you to saw with a hacksaw to a length specific to truck models...what is its purpose? Your install video did not install it. Can rack be used without it? Is it purely cosmetic? Also, can I slide the rack out of the bed rail while its fully assembled? Thanks

For the Rola Haul-Your-Might T3 Truck Bed Ladder Rack item # 59799 the option to install stops in the T track is why you would need to use a hacksaw to make cuts. I attached an installation video and it explains the cuts part right around the 1 min point of the video. At around the 4 min point of the video it talks about another set of cuts you will need to make. It looks like the rack can be used without it. I recommend using the pieces because that is what the instructions say. Yes, you can slide the rack out of the bed of your Tundra once it is fully assembled.
