Can I Use a Weight Distribution System with Factory Continuous Controlled Dampening Activated?

Question:

Can I safely add a mechanical sway bar to my F150 that already has the Trailer sway control option? CCD continuous controlled damping and Onboard scale smart hitch. Will the systems fight the mechanical sway bar i.e. Equal-l-izer?

I went ahead and did some research on your F-150, and the owner's manual does not mention anything about interference of your factory CCD and a weight distribution hitch. Since the electronic CCD does not prevent trailer sway and only reduces sway once it begins, a weight distribution system with an anti-sway component will prevent it from ever happening. Also, a weight distribution system will provide you with overall better performance.

I noticed that you had mentioned the Equal-i-zer. This line of sway control products has great anti-sway features. For example, the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control # EQ37060ET. This particular system has a tongue weight range of 200-600 pounds of tongue weight. As far as towing weight capacity, it provides you a max towing weight of 6,000 pounds. If you need a bit more of capacity, the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control # EQ37100ET. This system has a tongue weight range of 600-1,000 and a maximum gross towing capacity of 10,000 pounds. Both of these systems come with 4-point sway control that gives you superior control over systems with less points of contact.
