Air Bag System and Camper Tie Downs for a 2018 Ram 2500 4x4 with Bed Mounted Camper

Question:

Just picked up a used capri camper up in oregon. Drive back to california was sketchy. Extreme side to side wobble and rear bed sag. RAM forums suggest sway bar and air bags. Based on your videos, Im leaning toward the Firestone bags. Also need frame mounted tie downs. Suggestions?

For your 2018 Ram 2500 4x4 the Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Extreme Duty Air Helper Springs # F2706 will do a great job reducing strain on your rear suspension which will help prevent permanent sagging and excessive friction in your leaf springs. By adding air springs to your rear suspension, you can help to level your truck and improve braking and handling. To maximize this system I would recommend adding the Firestone Air Command II # F2219. This compressor system will let you level 2 air springs side to side, individually and works great on off-center loads such as slide-in campers.

The HappiJac Truck-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs # LC236326-205221 are custom-fit camper tie-downs that will permanently mount to your truck's body to distribute the weight of your camper and limit movement in all directions. These will work with a 6-1/2' or 8' bed, with or without a board or step and without a hitch or with a hitch that is not an aftermarket Torklift hitch. You will also need the HappiJac Original Turnbuckles # LC182898 to secure the camper to the tie downs.

If your truck doesn't fit the specifications listed about for the tie-downs, you can provide me with your trucks bed and hitch information and I can make a recommendation for you.
