Installing Peterson Trailer Backup Light on Trailer with Ground Wire
Question:
Hello, I currently have a combination module that for the stop/tail/turn has 2 wires and then it has 2 wires for the back up lights. I am considering replacing the stop/tail/turn with these. For replacing the back up light Im looking at this 393C And it shows it only has 1 wire. My current light module has a ground wire attached to it. Considering these ground to the mount do I just leave the wire bare or is there a way to use it with the mount? Ive included a photo of what Im talking about with my current setup. The white wire appears to be the ground.

Since the Peterson Trailer Backup Light part # 393C grounds through the mounting hardware what you'd want to do is run your ground wire to the mounting hardware of the light and it would be grounded.
