Replacement Key and/or Lock Core for a Sears X-Cargo Sport 20
Question:
I recently purchased a used Sears X-Cargo Sport 20. The lock jaws do not open all the way. The key seems like it may have been bent/deformed over time so I am not certain whether the issue is with the key or the lock tumbler. Looking for “Expert” advice on what to replace. Thanks much

If you feel that the key is damaged and not fully seating in the lock to catch all of the tumblers and that is the reason the lock isn't working, then you would want to use the Replacement Key # THKEYN2860 which is the correct key for the 2860 lock in your picture. You can also try tapping the key into the lock with a rubber mallet to ensure that it is fully seated.
The lock style in your picture is no longer available. If you need to change out the lock core you might be able to use the Replacement Lock Core and Key # SR03807. With this being a used cargo box with an outdated lock style, this may be your only option.
