Why Will My Lippert 3.0 Ground Control Not Receive Power on My 2018 Grand Design Fifth Wheel?

Question:

Did your first recommended check and get 7 volts on green and black connector wires. Battery output checks at 13 volts. I see no inline fuse??? Next steps??? 2018 Grand Design 311BHS

There are a couple different things to consider. With the Lippert 3.0 Ground Control system on your 2018 Grand Design 311BHS, I confirmed with my tech at Lippert that the voltage test should only be on the battery itself. The healthy battery voltage you should get is around 12.7 volts. He suggested taking a reading going into the controller itself as well as power from the controller. He also confirmed that 7 volts on the green and black connector wires is significantly low.

If you unplug the harness at the controller at the touchpad, you want to probe directly at the controller to test the output. If you have voltage in and 7 volts out, it is the controller. If you have the same voltage in/out, the problem lies in the harness.

Depending on these factors, you will need to either replace your battery or the wiring harness. Worst comes to worst, we do carry the replacement control panel with Replacement Control Module for Lippert Ground Control 3.0 Electric Leveling System # LC304136.

If you find out that you have pinpointed the issue in the wiring, please feel free to respond to this answer and I will be happy to recommend the correct wiring harness you need.
