This is definitely something that I can speak to. I have carried bikes on trunk racks from Missouri to California and back and from Virginia to Missouri and back.

My trunk rack recommendation for your 2017 Chevrolet Traverse is the Saris Bones 3 Bike Rack - Trunk Mount - Adjustable Arms, part # SA801BL. This is the rack that I used to carry bikes across long distances. While it is not listed as a fit on our website, I did confirm on the Saris website that it is compatible with your vehicle. Please keep in mind that if your beach cruisers have a curved top tube, you may also need the Hollywood Racks Bike Frame Adapter Bar for Women's and Alternative Frame Bikes, part # HRBA-PRO. This frame adapter bar attaches to the seat post and stem of your bike, creating a faux top tube that you will use to hang your bike from this trunk bike rack.
