Can Remote of Tekonsha Prodigy RF be Powered Off Split 12 Volt Accessory Circuit
Question:
2021 jeep Gladiator- I have one 12 volt socket and need to operate this brake controller unit and a trailer back up camera in the Jeep. I was looking at adding a splitter for the socket and plugging both units into it. Do you think the wiring could handle the load for both, or do I need to install another 12 volt line? The socket is rated at 160 watts.

Expert Reply:
The handheld remote of the Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # TK94FR does not draw a significant amount of amperage so you'd very easily be able to power it with a 12 volt socket that is also powering a back up camera with a splitter.
