Are There Wheelbase Extensions For The Yakima HoldUp Bike Rack # Y02443

Question:

My Ghost Rider has a 53 inch wheelbase. We purchased the Y02443 based off an etrailer blog stating how well the Y02443 held the Electra Ghost Rider. Is there an extension available to capture the back tire ? Otherwise we love the rack design. Thank you for your reply!

Unfortunately there are no extensions for the Yakima HoldUp Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount # Y02443 to increase the maximum wheelbase. You would instead need a bike rack like the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # HLY84FR. It has adjustable wheel hoops to fit a maximum wheelbase of up to 60" and a has a per bike weight capacity of 80lbs. The ratcheting hooks on the center mast will hold your Electra Ghost Rider securely by the frame. It has an anti-rattle handle that reduces movement of rack in the hitch receiver and keyed-alike hitch lock, frame hooks, and security cable deter theft of your bikes and the rack.

This bike rack is rated for use on cars, vans, trucks, SUV's, and motorhomes whereas the Yakima # Y02443 is only rated for use on cars, vans, trucks, SUV's, and flat towed vehicles.
