Tekonsha P3 Display Flashing When Installed on 2013 Chevy Tahoe
Question:
Hello, Installed the P3 per instructions into our 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe using the factory supplied wiring. All the wiring connections were secure and the Controller was mounted to a location on the drivers lower knee bolster. The P3 display is constantly flashing at a high rate. Disconnected the P3 harness and waited a few minutes for the internal reset. NO change. Once it is flashing, I can turn it off by activating the Manual Control lever. The display remains off until I disconnect and reconnect the P3 wiring harness. Then it is back to flashing. All P3 control buttons are inop in this situation.

From what you describe, it sounds like the controller might be wired to the factory tow package wiring incorrectly.
The brake controller pigtail should wire to the tow package wiring as follows:
• Tow Package Red/Black striped wire attaches to Black brake controller wire
• Tow Package Dark Blue wire attaches to Blue brake controller wire
• Tow Package White wire to White brake controller wire
• Tow Package Light Blue/White striped wire to Red brake controller wire
I've linked to an installation video that you might find helpful.
If this checks out okay and the brake controller is still malfunctioning, and since you've already rebooted the brake controller, then the brake controller is faulty and should be replaced.
