Mounting and Depth Dimensions of the Brophy Aluminum Scissor Steps # AS24

Question:

Is there a tailgate mounting bracket for this step? What is the extended dept dimension? I thought of another question. I have a Leer 122 truck cap and am concerned that the rubber seal will interfer with the bracket hooks when the tailgate and cap door are in the closed position?

When fully extended, the Brophy Aluminum Scissor Steps, # AS24, will have a depth of approximately 3 ft and an overall height of 39 inches (see photo). The mounting bracket that is included with the steps is pretty universal, so it could be mounted to your tailgate.

It sounds like you want to use these steps to make it easier to get into your truck bed. You may be able to avoid the rubber seal from your truck cap if you install the mounting bracket on the inside of your tailgate. This means the tailgate would have to be down each time you wanted to extend the steps.
