Best Brake Controller for Occasional Towing with a 2022 Hyundai Palisade
Question:
I am needing a brake controller for my 2022 Hyundai Palisade. I don't tow super often but when I do I will need a controller because my trailer has brakes. What brake controller do you think is the best one for me?

I have the perfect brake controller for your 2022 Hyundai Palisade that you only use for occasional towing. The brake controller that I recommend is the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180. This is a Bluetooth-enabled brake controller that wirelessly connects to your smartphone, turning your phone into a brake control interface providing for a simpler install and will eliminate the need for a bulky brake controller under your dash. This is a great option for someone who doesn't tow all of the time.
To use the brake controller you will need to have a 7-way connector on your Palisade. If you are starting with nothing in the way of trailer wiring at the back of your Palisade you will need to start by installing a 4-way connector. The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # CU94FR will provide you with a 4-way connector. Next you will need to use the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation # ETBC7L, this kit will adapt the 4-way that was installed into a 7-way for your brake controller. The only way to get a 7-way connector is to start with a 4-way and adapt it to a 7-way. I also recommend picking up the Curt No-Drill Bracket # C57202 which will allow you to use the bracket included in the # ETBC7L to mount your 7-way to your hitch.
If you already have a 7-way then you won't need to do any of the installation involving the 4-way or 7-way. If you already have a 4-way connector then you will just need the # ETBC7L.
