Troubleshooting Brake Output Circuit of ETBC7 That Has Voltage All the Time
Question:
Installed ETBC7 kit and Tekonsha Voyager BC in my Sienna 2015 SE. Issue is constant 12V at 5 o’clock trailer brake pin and no power when disconnect Tekonsha from connector. Every connection should be correct, one suspect is I connected ground wire white from brake controller harness on the brake pedal nut 12mm as your installation video at 7:25 mark. This could be a cause of this kind of issue? And should I re-connect ground wire directly to negative terminal of battery?

Helpful Expert Reply:
If you are seeing a constant 12 volts on the brake output pin of your 7-way that would indicate that you have a short from the 12 volt accessory circuit (1:00 pin that runs to vehicle battery positive post) to the brake output circuit. I would try running the ground up to the vehicle battery negative post if you can as that could cause issues.
