Recommendation for Hitch Mount Bike Rack and Receiver Adapter For a 2008 Saturn Vue

Question:

I am installing a class III 2 inch Hitch on my Saturn 2008 Vue XE FWD. I really like the Swagman Trailhead Bike Rack for 3 bikes. Is this ok for my car? Also, eventually I would like to tow a small trailer along with the bike rack. There is an adapter for my class III hitch where I can accommodate both, correct?

The Swagman Trailhead 3 # S63365 is a fit for your 2008 Saturn Vue that you are having the Class III hitch put on. As a suggestion, if you are planning on carrying either womens, childrens, or alternative frame bikes, check out the Swagman Adapter Bar # 64005. When using this bar with a hanging bike rack the bike is transported level and provides your bike good ground clearance.

The Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount # D210 will allow you to tow a small trailer and also carry your bikes simultaneously. This receiver is designed for a 2 inch hitch, so it will fit your Class III hitch.

On the D210 product page, there is a picture with all of the product measurements - you need to look at those measurements to verify that what you are going to pull will be able to fit with your bike rack as well as the ball and coupler because there is limited space. Another aspect that you will need to take into consideration is the weight capacity of the vehicle which can be found in your owners manual. The final point of consideration is the clearance between the bike rack and the trailer to make sure that when your bike rack is loaded it does not collide with the trailer.
