Recommended Trailer Hitch with Best Ground Clearance for a 2022 Toyota Sienna

On my old van we had some issues where the hitch and/or bike rack would hit the road if we took a steep enough hill or turned into a gas station with a deep rut. For my 2022 Sienna I'd like to try to avoid this. What hitch will have the best ground clearance for my bike rack?

The only real difference in style and clearance between the Curt # C22UR and Draw-Tite # DT55MR hitches for your 2022 Toyota Sienna is that the Curt crosstube bends in a little at the ends to better fit the contour of your Sienna. This means that if you're turning and going uphill that the Curt is going to give you better clearance so I recommend going with the Curt. Other than that they will have the same clearance when you are driving forward.

If you're in the market for a new bike rack or you might want something with a little more ground clearance then I recommend checking out the Thule Apex Swing XT # TH9027XT because it has arms that are slanted up so that further out the bike is the higher it sits. This helps with loading and ground clearance. Another great thing about this rack is that it can swing away from your vehicle without having to remove the bikes - this gives you unrestricted access to the rear cargo area on your Sienna.
