How To Remove Plastic Caps From Yakima Q Tower
Question:
I just purchased a 2002 PT Cruiser with Yakima Q tower roof rack system installed when new . No key came with the vehicle and at this point, I dont even know if there are locks installed. There are grey plastic caps in the ends of the lock cores, with a slot at the top. How do I remove these caps without breaking them?

To remove the plastic caps you're referring to on the Replacement Lock Housing for Yakima Q Tower # Y8870069, simply take a small flathead, or a standard key, and stick the tool into the open slot on the plastic and push the key down and towards you.
