Comparing Firestone and Air Lift 7500 Air Bag Systems for a 2022 GMC Sierra 3500
Question:
Interested in adding an air bag kit to my 2022 GMC Sierra 3500 for when I'm towing or hauling stuff. What's the difference between the Firestone and Air Lift 7500 models and which one do you recommend?

Expert Reply:
Both the Firestone Red Label Ride-Rite # F2709 and Air Lift LoadLifter 7500 XL # AL57541 air bag kits are excellent options for your 2022 GMC Sierra 3500, but I recommend going with the Firestone over the Air Lift simply because the construction of the air bags and mounting plates are stronger which means they will be more durable and last longer. The Firestone kit uses a crimp-rolled seal to connect the bag to the mounting plate while the Air Lift essentially uses a clamp to help secure the bag to the plate. This makes them more susceptible to coming undone in extreme circumstances.
I also recommend looking into adding an air compressor kit like the Firestone Air Command II # F2168. This system allows you to monitor and adjust your air bags on the fly and it comes with a tank and air hose so that you can also fill up your truck/trailer tires or essentially anything else while you're towing/hauling. The mounting bracket kit # F2530 will make it easier to install this kit.
Attached are some installation videos for you to check out.
