Difference Between Draw-Tite and Curt Trailer Hitches for a 2022 Toyota Sienna

Question:

I would like to add a hitch to my 2022 Sienna so that I can transport some bikes around when needed. What would the differences be for the different hitches and which one would you recommend? Are there any advantages of one over the other?

I would be more than happy to recommend a trailer hitch for your 2022 Toyota Sienna. Both the Draw-Tite # DT55MR and Curt # C22UR have identical designs when it comes to mounting bracket installation and hitch height so I recommend going with the Curt because they are made in the USA and they typically have a thicker powder coat which means they can resist the elements better.

Attached is a photo of this hitch installed on a 2021 Sienna for you to check out.

If you don't already have a bike rack then I recommend checking out the Thule Apex Swing XT # TH9027XT because it allows you to load up to 4 bikes on it and you also have the ability to swing the whole rack away from the vehicle so that you can open up your rear hatch without removing the bikes or bike rack. The Apex Swing XT has easy-to-use features for moving the arms and swing-away system, but I really like the upgraded 7" spacing between the cradles. Loading up a hanging style bike rack isn't always easy but that extra spacing will help make things a little easier.

Check out the linked review of the Apex Swing XT to get a better idea of how this rack operates.
