Is Battery Charging Profile The Same For PD4045KA And PD4060K
Question:
Since most lithium batteries only accept a maximum 50 amp charge rate, is there an advantage to getting a 60 amp charger? Also, is there a risk of overcharging the batteries? Im debating between the PD4045KA and the PD4060K. I assume I may also have to upsize the battery wire from 6 ga to 4 ga for the 60 amp charger.

The battery charger, the Charge Wizard, is actually the same for both the Progressive Dynamics Mighty Mini AC/DC Panel and Converter/Smart Charger - 60 Amp # PD4060K and 45 Amp # PD4045KA.
So the charge rate is going to be equal for both, and there is no risk of overcharging the battery due to the Charge Wizard monitoring the battery charge and then maintaining it without overcharging it.
The difference is in the power output of the two, with the # PD4045KA outputting 45 amps and 610 watts, while the # PD4060K outputting 60 amps and 810 watts. So no matter which one you go with, the charge rate will be equal, so only go with the higher-rated option if needed for your set up.
