Technically, yes, you could put a trailer hitch mount cargo carrier in a front mount hitch like # 31432 on your 2011 Jeep Wrangler but there are some things you need to be aware of. A loaded cargo carrier can reduce driver visibility, block the vehicle lights, and reduce airflow to the motor. If the cargo is properly secured then you would not have to worry about that aspect of it.

What I recommend is to go with the multi-purpose ball mount # D210. This will allow you to tow a trailer and use a cargo carrier at the same time. The receiver portion of the D210 has a tongue weight capacity of 350 pounds and the whole ball mount has a capacity of 750 pounds. So basically if the combined weight of the cargo carrier and its cargo is 350 pounds that would mean the trailer tongue weight cannot exceed 400 pounds.
