Since your 2014 Ram 1500 has a 5-1/2' bed a sliding hitch isn't going to give you enough clearance to make 90 degree turn and I highly recommend swapping the pin box on your trailer to a Sidewinder pin box if it doesn't already have one.

If it does have a Sidewinder pin box then you'll just want to keep your sliding hitch locked in place as you can't use a rotating pin box and sliding hitch at the same time.

If it does not have a Sidewinder pin box then you will need to know what the bolt pattern of your current pin box is to find the correct replacement. For example the Reese Sidewinder 5th Wheel King Pin with Rotating Turret - 20,000lbs # RP34FR is a fit for the following pin box bolt patterns: Fabex 663, Fabex 665, Lippert 0719, Lippert 1621, Lippert 1621HD, M and M 663, and M and M 665.

There should be a model or serial number on a tag or stamped into the front or side of your current pin box. If there isn't then you can follow the steps in the attached help article that will walk through determining the bolt pattern.
