Would Either a P2 or P3 Easily Replace a Prodigy Brake Controller for Activating EOH Trailer Brakes
Question:
I currently have a Prodigy 90185 in a 2005 GMC 3500 diesel W/tow package. Im going to have our 5th wheel converted to disc brakes so Ill replace the Prodigy 90185 with either the P2 or the P3. Is there any difference in the wiring between either the P2 or the P3 and the older Prodigy. If not, will the old wiring harness that plugs into the Prodigy plug into either the P2 or the P3?

Either the P2 Brake Controller # 90885 or the P3 Brake Controller # 90885 would work great for you and would wire exactly the same. Basically, you will just need to unplug the Prodigy, remove it from the mounting bracket and wire either brake controller by plugging it into the harness that was used for your old controller.
Since dimensionally the Prodigy and the P2 are the same it would be a very simple install to just use your current mounting bracket to install the P2 in place of your Prodigy. The P3 would require a different mounting bracket.
Either controller would activate the electric over hydraulic brakes of your trailer.
