What Causes Intermittent Trailer Connection Error on Dash of 2012 Ram 3500

Hi , i have a 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 crew cab 4x4,and i have this problem . whenever i haul my 5th wheel , once in a while in the dash a beep than it will show that my trailer is disconnected. With this , i have no more brakes on the trailer. Now this will happen with smaller trailer .i have tryed other things , i even bought another controller module and replaced the plug on the trailer but it still showing disconnected . It will go back normal for a while than will show again , disconnected .Is that something you guys heard off. THks to you !

What you have described is an intermittent trailer connection which is almost always caused by corrosion on the pins of the trailer connector. So what you can do is take sandpaper to all of the pins of the 7-ways and that will most likely fix the issue. Other possibility is that there is an issue with the connection of the wires to the 7-ways which you can inspect for and fix as needed.
