I have a great roof rack option for you. If you have a non-panoramic roof with factory crossbars on your 2017 Ford Escape, I confirmed with Yakima that the MegaWarrior # Y07080 will unfortunately not fit your factory crossbars. However, I also confirmed with Yakima that the Yakima LoadWarrior Roof Rack Cargo Basket - Steel - 62" Long x 39" Wide # Y07070-74 is a great alternative fitment for your setup. Just like the MegaWarrior, the LoadWarrior comes with a fairing to minimize wind resistance/noise during transport. As far as weight capacity, you will be able to transport up to 140 pounds in the basket (as long as you do not exceed the weight capacity of your factory crossbars). Like all baskets and crossbars, I recommend confirming with your vehicle's user manual to make sure your roof can handle that much weight.
