If somebody cut off the 7-way, you can wire in a new one using part # HM40975-11998. The pigtail used by this connector would wire to the factory wiring harness under the vehicle by connecting the red pigtail wire to the yellow wire that carries the left turn/brake signal on the factory harness . The white wire on the pigtail would connect to the white wire in the harness, the blue wire on the harness would connect to the blue wire on the pigtail that carries the output voltage from the brake controller, the green pigtail wire would carry the right turn/brake signal and would connect to the green wire on the harness, the black harness wire carrying 12-volt power from the battery connects to the black wire on the pigtail, the brown harness wire that carries the running lights attaches to the brown wire on the pigtail and the yellow wire on the pigtail which is typically used for the reverse lights would connect to the light green wire in the wiring harness if needed.
Before wiring anything, I would recommend using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 on the factory harness to confirm the wire colors just to be sure.
Since the # HM40975-11998 already provides a 4-pole connector, an adapter like the # 47345 would not be needed.
