Parts Needed to Install a Trailer Brake Controller in a 2007 Chevy Tahoe
Question:
The description suggest this works on Chevy SUVs through 2006 and some 2007 trucks. However, I cant find any information regarding the correct wiring adaptor for the 2007 Tahoe? Thanks

If your 2007 Chevy Tahoe came with a factory 7-Way or no connector at all, it will still have the tow package wires tucked up under the dash. Most brake controllers come with a harness that plugs into the controller and has blunt cut wires that you would use to hardwire to the tow package wiring under the dash.
You will look for the tow package wires under the dash, behind the and slightly to the left of the steering column. The wires will be held together with a white tag that lists their functions.
In the tow package wiring there should be 4 or 5 wires. You will connect them to the brake controller wiring as follows:
Red/Black on Tahoe goes to Black on controller for 12 volt power
White on Tahoe goes to White on controller for ground
Light Blue/White on Tahoe goes to Red on controller for brake light signal
Dark Blue on Tahoe goes to Blue on controller for brake output
Orange on Tahoe is not used
There may also be some connections that you will need to make under the hood to make everything fully functional. I have included a link to an FAQ article that explains brake controller installation on your Tahoe.
If your Tahoe does not have a factory 7-Way you will also need # 30955. For a brake controller I recommend the Tekonsha P2, # 90885 because it is reliable, easy to use and easy to set up.
