Does Curt Echo with 7-Way Adapter # ETBC7L Work on 2021 Ford Edge
Question:
Hello. I Want to replace 2021 Ford Edge that came with towing package and a 4 pin trailer wiring, to 7 pin to use with a brake controller. What parts would I need and are there instructions for installation. SoI read on your website that the easiest to install brake controller that also works really well is the Curt Echo Mobile part # C51180. Basically this just plugs into an active 7-way and once you sync it to your phone its ready to go. Your website also says that to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller requires the 7-way adapter kit part # ETBC7L. The 4-way of this plugs into the 4-way of your vehicle and once you run the included wiring and breaker up to the vehicles positive battery post its active enough to allow the Echo to function. It says this would save me from having to hardwire in a brake controller which requires tapping into the brake signal of your vehicle and running a few other wires too, which is great. But the caveat underneath the controller listing is that it is for a Ford Edge without factory Tow Package. Does that mean it would not work with my vehicle? Thanks

You are on the right track for adding an easy to install and great performing brake controller to your 2021 Ford Edge by converting it's 4-way to a 7-way with the # ETBC7L and using the Curt Echo part # C51180. Our fitguide is organized a little strangely at times but it for sure would work on your vehicle with or without the tow package.
