Recommended Replacement For A Dexter A-60 Brake Actuator With A Broken Safety Cable
Question:
I have managed to break the Safety Cable. Where can I get a replacement and is there a process to reset the brakes? Cheers

This does happen every now and then, but you will need the Dexter Replacement Emergency Breakaway Cable Kit # DX64XR. This is specifically for the A-60 actuators, which the # DX56FR is.
With that said, on the bottom or underneath side of the inner member of the actuator, there is a small tab that you can push down with a flat blade screwdriver (refer to the included image as to what this looks like). Depressing this is supposed to release the internal workings of the actuator and grant you access.
As far as reassembling the new cable kit, there are several steps involved that are outlined in the owners operation manual. I did include an excerpt from said manual that should help with everything.
